One of two memorials framing a gateway on the lane along the cliffs near Dover. The commemoration reads: 'A Royal Flying Corps contingent of the 1914 British Expeditionary Force consisting of nos. 2,3,4 and 5 squadrons flew from this field to Amiens between 13-15 Aug 1914.'

Behind are the two remaining truncated masts from the Swingate Chain Home radar station. Until March 2010, there were three: LinkExternal link
