The Acton Arms (pub sign), Haughton Lane
This used to be a Banks's pub, but they have been taken over by Marstons. Since the takeover, the traditional Banks's sign of a golden lion, with the pub name above, has been changed to this rather smart sign, showing what is presumably the coat of arms of the Acton family. Now the sign has far more lions than the previous one. A photograph taken five years ago by Bob Embleton, includes the previous sign:- SO6794 : Acton Arms, Morville.

The Actons were a leading local Catholic family from Acton Burnell. They were in Morville from at least the 14th century. They lived at Aldenham Hall, Morville.
