SE3218 : Embankment and stile by River Calder, Wakefield
near to Crigglestone, Wakefield, Great Britain

Embankment and stile by River Calder, Wakefield
The embankment is on the south of the River Calder, running from the west side of Denby Dale Road for about 300 metres. This stile is at the west end. The embankment seems to consist of a greyish soil, or possibly ash, seems manmade, but is not level enough to have been a railway embankment.
I've been told that it may be spoil from an old soapworks that used to be nearby.
