Croydon: St Michael and All Angels church
Croydon: St Michael and All Angels church
The eastern apse of St Michael and All Angels church, a late 19th century structure tucked into Croydon's main shopping area. Although Church of England, it is (and always has been) very Anglo-Catholic in its leanings and could easily be mistaken for a Roman Catholic church inside. The architect, J. Loughborough Pearson, built the similarly Anglo-Catholic St John the Evangelist in Upper Norwood (TQ3369 : St John the Evangelist, Auckland Road).
For the south side of the church, see TQ3266 : St Michael, Poplar Walk; for the north, TQ3266 : Croydon: St Michael and All Angels church, from the north.
