SD9339 : Stone bridge at Wycoller

taken 26 years ago, near to Wycoller, Lancashire, Great Britain

Stone bridge at Wycoller
Stone bridge at Wycoller
This is the same bridge as in John Tomlinson's geograph but seen from the side. According to a book on bridges, the asymmetrical arch is probably a design feature (to transfer most of the load onto the rock from which one side springs) and not the result of settlement.
