Drumlins in Glen Varragill
Drumlins in Glen Varragill
The flatter ground in the southern end of Glen Varragill is dotted with small hummocks which are drumlins - deposits left behind after glaciation. They are not easy to photograph clearly. Also visible in this picture is the Varragill River and, running along the edge of the forest on the left - the A87 Portree to Sligachan road.
