NN9677 : Straight river

taken 12 years ago, near to Ruigh an Fhirich [other Features], Perth And Kinross, Great Britain

Straight river
Straight river
In this section of Glen Tilt the river runs as straight as a die, almost as though it has been canalised. (But it hasn't. This is one of the few big rivers in the Highlands that has no hydro-electric workings on it.) The reason it runs so straight is that it is following the line of the Loch Tay geological fault.
