Crops n Weeds on Former WWII Airfield
Crops n Weeds on Former WWII Airfield
On this former WWII airfield we see to the left a crop of barley; along the edge of this crop (from the large building) the line of bushes mark the official course of the public right of way to the Roman Road of Ermine Street now the A15. To the right the crop is rapeseed and beyond that more barley and beyond that (unseen) is a sugar beet crop which goes to the hedge line of Middle Street Roman Road top right of the picture. The large building to the left has been numerous things in its day, we were told, one being a potato sorting shed.
