St. Nicholas
St. Nicholas
The cathedral church viewed from Side. It was originally a parish church, the fourth largest in England, and was only designated a cathedral in 1882. The first reference to a church dedicated to St. Nicholas on this site was in 1194. The church in its current form dates to the 15th century when the tower and crown were added.
