Nant yr Hen Lyn
This was the farmstead at which the 18thC Welsh Calvinistic Methodist leader Howell Harris used to stay during his evangelizing tours of Anglesey. It was here too that he had assignations with the self-proclaimed prophetess, Madam Sidney Griffith, the wife of John Griffith the drunken squire of Cefnamwlch which eventually led to Madam Griffith being kicked out by her husband and her moving into the Harris household in South Wales. When Madam Griffith used to disappear along the woodland path to Nant yr Hen Lyn, the squire used to shout "Mae'r gigfran wedi mynd i'w nyth" (The raven has gone to her nest). The adjoining homestead is still called Nyth y Gigfran.
