The Alexandra pub sign, 74 Victoria Road, Farnborough
The pub is named after Queen Alexandra, the wife of King Edward VII. Prior to her husband becoming King in 1901, Alexandra was Princess of Wales from 1863 to 1901. This was the longest time anyone had held that title. During this long period, Alexandra became very popular with the British public, so it is not surprising to find a pub named after her. She died in November 1925.
