Derelict mansion of Cwrt
Derelict mansion of Cwrt
Seen through the trees above Llanychaer, Cwrt still looks impressive but up close it is sadly decayed and in need of urgent TLC. Described by Richard Fenton in his Tour of Pembrokeshire (1811) as a handsome modern mansion with a well-managed demesne, its outbuildings are also in ruins. The tree stump is all that remains of a cedar grown from a seed brought from the Holy Land.
The adjacent farm is still operating.
