SM8835 : Lime kiln, Aberbach, Pembs

near to St Nicholas, Pembrokeshire/Sir Benfro, Great Britain

Lime kiln, Aberbach, Pembs.
Lime kiln, Aberbach, Pembs.
Tucked away just a short distance back from the beach is the remains of at least one lime kiln that would once have been used to convert limestone, delivered by sea, into quicklime to sweeten the acid soil. Now hidden in thicket it's a good place to shelter from a cold wind.
