Floating Island valley, Jan. 12th 2003
Floating Island was, prior to 1703, a small tidal river valley; hence the name. In November of that year a great storm closed the mouth of the river. It's now a marshy valley, part of the North Solent Nature Reserve, and a favourite haunt of mine. This picture was taken early on a very frosty morning.
