Contrails over the Lake District
Contrails over the Lake District
Some idea of the amount of transatlantic air travel from this collection of contrails seen from Dale Head. There is concern that the blanketing effect of the artificial cirrus clouds is trapping heat adding to the damage done by their Carbon dioxide emmissions. As always more research is needed, but this could well be weather modification on a big scale.
The central peak is Scafell Pike.
