The Royal Oak, Fishguard Square
The site of the signing of the treaty at the end of the invasion fiasco in 1797. Jemima Nicholas, whose 'army' of local women is credited with scaring off the French, is memorialised in the churchyard almost adjoining. Now the pub hosts folk music nights and an annual folk festival.
