TA2343 : The beach south of Mappleton

taken 11 years ago, near to Great Cowden, East Riding of Yorkshire, Great Britain

The beach south of Mappleton
The beach south of Mappleton
This coast line is subject to coastal erosion of 2m - 4m per year. The concrete structure in the foreground is probably the remains of a Second World War pill box formerly manned by gunners/observers to prevent a German invasion on the coast here. The Holderness coastline is littered with such structures.
