How to start a meander
How to start a meander
Here a large oak (Quercus rubor) has been undermined by the River Teme. It is blocking the flow and if left it will force the current into the far bank, soon forming a bend. The outside of bends are subject to the strongest current, and it would not be long before a large new bend forms and the area around the tree silts up.
