SJ1888 : Very low tide on Hilbre Island

taken 22 years ago, 3 km from Hoylake, Wirral, Great Britain

Very low tide on Hilbre Island
Very low tide on Hilbre Island
This was taken at the North West corner of Hilbre Island. Extremely low tide - most of these rocks are not normally visible, even during 'springs' (when the moon and sun are in conjunction or opposition). On these rare occasions, not only is the topography very different, but you see creatures like starfish and giant anemones. I also found hematite rocks, which are not natural to this area.
