Glaston Tunnel ventilation shaft
Glaston Tunnel ventilation shaft
The ventilation shaft is from the Glaston railway tunnel which is still in use taking trains from Melton Mowbray to Corby and Kettering. A bricked up doorway is visible. The picture is taken from the top of a spoil heap which has a triangulation point on its top SK9000 : Real live trig point!. A layby on the A47 trunk road is in the background.
