The M27 westbound between junctions 1 and 2, Copythorne
Copythorne Common is divided by the M27 cutting between junctions 1 and 2. This view from the bridge north of the primary school is looking southwest towards Castle Malwood. About a mile further on is junction 1 (Cadnam), beyond which the motorway reverts to a two-lane dual carriageway. The combination of weekend/holiday traffic headed to Bournemouth and the southwest, one less lane and a long, occasionally steep, uphill stretch means that the traffic flow often slows to a crawl here. The bridge is mounted with various cameras (for Trafficmaster and surveillance).
