Balloch Pier. The railways arrived in Balloch on 15th July 1850 making the Loch accessible for many people, the steamers connected with the passenger trains. The station (originally Balloch Wharf) and section of line LinkExternal link from Balloch Central LinkExternal link closed on 28th September 1986. P.S. Maid of the Loch LinkExternal link , the last conventional paddle steamer to be built in Great Britain, is berthed at Balloch Pier.
