The Principality of Sealand
The Principality of Sealand
Due to good tides the captain decided to venture out to HM Roughs Fort, this was aboard the PS Waverley on a trip from Southwold to London tower bridge. HM roughs fort is an ex naval sea fort. One of a few in the area, they had guns to prevent mine laying activities and shoot down planes. It was put in place in February 1943. LinkExternal link

Now it is the famous Principality of Sealand, a micro nation. Although not officially recognised as a country the English courts can do nothing to prevent it being inhabited. LinkExternal link
