Flood depth markers, Worcester
Beside the Watergate to Worcester Cathedral is this flood depth indicator. The highest recorded flood was in 1770, the brown plaque high on the wall marks this. Just below this to the left is 1947. At the time the highest recent flood was marked on the right and was in November 2000, this was surpassed in July 2007 SO8454 : Flood levels, Worcester. On this occasion army vehicles were used to carry people between St John's and the city as New Road was flooded.
