Featherbed Moss
Featherbed Moss
The former Pennine Way route on Saddleworth Moor, now paved.

The objects lying on the peat are bundles of twigs etc. wrapped in geotextile and staked down. It is an attempt to prevent further erosion of the peat by running water.
