Little Bradley All Saints church
This lovely little Norman church is a treat to visit. The setting is tranquil and on a sunny afternoon you can imagine yourself back in the ‘Good Old Days’. The late Saxon round tower with its later octagonal belfry stage complements the church beautifully. The porch has been virtually rebuilt and it is unfortunate that the restoration of this ancient building was not more sympathetically carried out. The octagonal font which is 14th century is quite plain and unadorned. Also probably late Saxon in origin is the nave and part of the chancel. Two slit windows on the east wall have been blocked, as has the low side window in the chancel. On the south chancel wall, there are also signs of rebuilding. The piscina is set into the splay of the window reveal and is flanked by the dropped-sill sedilia.
