St.Edmunds Chapel, Old Hunstanton
The wall and arch are all that remains of the chapel, built to commemorate the saint who is reputed to have landed on this spot in 950AD after a journey across the North Sea from Germany. The lighthouse, now defunct, in the background is actually in an adjacent grid square TF6742.
