Autumn slime mould species in grassland (1)
A slime mould species, Mucilago crustacea, which looks as if it is made up of a large number of very small cells (like fish-eggs in size and shape); in this case, the "fish-eggs" were entire, small spheres, presumably before the release of spores. In another case, TM0634 : Autumn slime mould species in grassland (2), the "eggs" were broken open, presumably in the release of spores. Growing in open grassland, with many specimens scattered around.
