Whitten Pond at Whitten Bottom, New Forest
Whitten Pond is in the middle of open heathland south of Burley and attracts Commoners' stock who come here to drink and shade. The effect of the recent dry weather can be seen here as the shallow pond is far from its usual size. A nearby sign warns people not to boat or swim because of "dangerous holes".
