Blacon Community Mosaic
This circular mosaic was created in April 2010 and represents the 120 year history of Blacon Station that once stood on this spot. There are 1400 tiles in the wheel of which nearly 1000 were designed or decorated by the young people of Blacon. Half of the wheel represents the bicycle wheel with its fine spokes, the other half represents the much heavier locomotive wheel. The entire project was created and overseen by ceramic artist Caroline Perry.
