Chirnside Parish Church
There is speculation an ecclesiastical enclave was established at Chirnside in the 7th. century but known history shows King Edgar gifted lands at Chirnside to the monks of Durham, in the first decade of the 12th. century, on which to build a chapel. The present kirk is a direct descendant of that chapel.
