Plaque on the Howick Hall estate
In the East Arboretum. The plaque reads "Pterocarya Stenoptera. This tree was planted by Roy Lancaster OBE VMH on 29th April 2006 to commemorate the opening of the Howick Arboretum. We collected the seed on an expedition to China on 26th September 2003 at 1035 metres near the Tumen River in Sichuan Province." See also NU2517 : Commemorative tree at Howick Hall.
