Ardeer explosives factory from the air
Part of the vast Nobel/ICI complex to the south of Stevenston on the Clyde coast which opened in 1871 and expanded considerably since then. At its peak, the factory employed 13,000 people and had its own private railway station. It is now Japanese owned and employs only a fraction of that number.
