Built in 1897 as the Tate Gallery, provided by the sugar magnate Sir Henry Tate, on the site of Millbank Penitentiary. It now houses works by British artists, other parts of the collection are in Tate Modern. This view is across Millbank from the pavement by the river Thames. For another view see [[176062].
