Dewpond near Potter Barn
Dewpond near Potter Barn
A traditional Peak District dewpond, with a layer of stone setts over puddled clay lining, and used to provide drinking water to livestock on limestone where rainwater otherwise permeates away. Many nowadays are disused and dry. Behind is Abney Moor (SK1879).
