Ornamental lake at RMA Sandhurst
Ornamental lake at RMA Sandhurst
When the original Royal Military College building, now Old College, was completed in 1812 on 450 acres of scrubland and sandy woodland at Camberley, an existing water-mill was pulled down and its mill pond enlarged and excavated to form this lake. It is fed by the Wishstream, a tributary of the Blackwater river. Now populated by wild duck, grebes, herons and other wild fowl, the lake makes an attractive feature on the Sandhurst estate in front of SU8560 : Old College at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst
