21st century Lincolnshire: windmill and signalbox at Heckington
Two remarkable survivors, almost next to each other. There is a small railway museum (not often open) on the station platform, but the signalbox still works for a living. There are a number of these old-style boxes along the line from Grantham to Skegness. The fancy barge-boards (under the eaves) seem to be a feature of structures on the old Great Northern Railway.
