National Cycle Network Route 2 Milepost
National Cycle Network Route 2 Milepost
This (fossil type) milepost is beside the Royal Military Canal and a footbridge over the canal. This section of Route 2 leads from Burmarsh, through Hythe towards Folkestone.
National Cycle Network Mileposts
1000 Millennium cast iron mileposts were funded by the Royal Bank of Scotland to mark the creation of the National Cycle Network, and found along the cycles routes through the UK.

There are four different types of posts, "Fossil Tree" by John Mills, "The Cockerel" by Iain McColl, Rowe Type by Andrew Rowe, and "Tracks" by David Dudgeon. The four artists are from each country of the UK though all posts can be found in all four countries.

National Cycle Route 2
National Route 2 will link Dover with St. Austell when complete via the south coast of England and is sometimes referred to as the South Coast Cycle Route.
The route is only fully open, at present, and signed between Dover and Brighton, but is still under development between Brighton and St. Austell.
