Remains of WWII Railway Workings
Remains of WWII Railway Workings, taken 6 years ago
Chicksands Woods was used by the military during World War Two. Apparently ammunition was stored here and a railway was used to transport it. I believe these are the remains of the railway workings, perhaps this could have been a platform. There is a corrugated Iron structure with a bench inside it on the platform.

Since originally posting this image a local resident has contacted me suggesting that the structure shown was actually for loading trailers and that there was no railway.
