Hushings, Skears Hushes
Hushings, Skears Hushes
The deeply scarred hillside is evidence of a very early attempt to extract lead. A suitable stream would be dammed up until a sizable amount of water was being held back. The dam would then be breached and the resulting torrent would expose the lead seam.
