Bailbridge Water Fountain, Middleton Town Centre
Erected in 1877 at a cost of 35 by a local lead mine manager. Its recent restoration cost 12,000 and was funded with the help of a European grant.

I am informed that the manager was Robert W Bainbridge of the London Lead Mining Co. The cost was raised from subscriptions raised by his staff of this popular manager and he unveiled it at his retiral on 28 September 1877.
