This photograph shows the vestiges of the head drum house of the Ffridd Incline which served a contiguous line of workings which extended downslope to the shores of Llyn Padarn. The tramway route from Chwarel Fawr and Bryn Mawr quarries to the incline head is visible on the left. The last of these quarries ceased operating in the 1930s
