Curious right of way near Black Hill
Curious right of way near Black Hill
Black Hill is a minor hill at the northern edge of Hamsterley Forest. To the east of its summit a public right of way crosses from moorland to the north into the forest. Oddly, within the forest the right of way is a bridleway but as it crosses on to the moor continuing access is only by a footpath! The mainly hidden notice tells as much. Horse riders and cyclists beware!
