Giant wind turbine at Nigg yard
The former oil rig fabrication yard at Nigg is now being used to build two huge prototype wind turbines to be placed out at sea in the Beatrice field. This image shows one near completion, on a barge called Rambiz registered at Brugge. Careful view will show the other turbine on the ground being prepared for assembly. This experiment is costing £35 million!
