It is quite often the case that signalboxes on preserved railways have been rescued from abandoned routes elsewhere. Such is the case with the Great Central's signalbox at Quorn - but not, I believe, with this one. It is a more substantial structure than many, built to control operations on the Great Central's main line (which once ran from Sheffield Victoria to Marylebone).
