River Spey, Breakachy
As always in this part of Badenoch, the scene is dominated by Creag Dubh, a striking outlier of the Monadh Liath. The river often floods here and has a low gradient until it gets past Loch Insh. There is evidence of flood defences including steep banks, more familiar in a Somerset landscape, not that there are any Creag Dubhs down there.
