Inscribed stone on Pont Henrietta Mair
Henrietta Maria was the wife of Thomas Lloyd, Lord Marcher of the Ancient Barony of Cemais and one-time owner of Newport Castle. It was he who had the bridge over the mill stream here rebuilt in 1871 OC (Oed Crist/Anno Domini) as is inscribed on this stone which stands beside it. Also on the stone, although hard to make out, are the words Y GWIR YB ERBYN Y BYD/The Truth Against the World.
