All Saints church, Wood Norton - east window
The Domesday book of 1086 mentions two churches in Wood Norton. What remains of St Peter's church, situated to the south of the village, can be seen at Manor Farm > LinkExternal link. The building has been converted into a farm building and is still in use as a barn. All Saints church > LinkExternal link - located in the village - has survived and is still in use as the parish church. It dates mainly from the 14th century, the porch is a 15th century addition. The baptismal font dates from the 14th century. The restored west window contains fragments of medieval glass > LinkExternal link. The evenly laid flint, a Norman technique, suggests that the chancel > LinkExternal link dates from the early 13th century and is contemporary with the tower's base. By the year 1700 the tower had been rebuilt with local brick.
