Kensington Gardens
Head north along Gardner Street then across North Road is the southern entrance to Kensington Gardens. This was the first street to be built north of North Road and the houses originally had gardens at the front of them. However, it became a shopping street quite early on to serve the growing community around it. Today it is the third of four principal shopping streets in the North Laine area. Shops selling army surplus, homeopathic remedies, North American Indian culture, fudge, fabric, juggling balls and shoes operate down here.
