Ju-Ju, Gloucester Road
Head south down Sydney Street until the junction with Gloucester Road. The latter continues up to Queens Road but is pedestrianised at this point as a link between Sydney Street and the northern entrance of Kensington Gardens. Ju-ju is a new and second hand clothing store with a striking design to the building. I'm not sure where the shoes slung over the line across the road comes from, whether it's deliberate or something that has just caught on, they have been there for a while and are gradually increasing in number. The brown building in the centre is a former newspaper printers. The local paper the Evening Argus was based here between 1926 and 2000, the printing presses were removed to a new factory on an industrial estate at the northern edge of the town in the early 1990s and the rest of the paper followed in 2000. The building has now been converted into apartments.
